Financial Information

CARPOOL is a 501 3(c) non-profit organization that currently operates from an annual budget in excess of $110,000. We raise all of our money through fundraisers, grants, sponsorships, individual donations, and dues. Our current budget is being updated and will be available for viewing soon. However, some of our major expenses are the rental cars that cost us upwards of $50,000 dollars a year and our gas cost, which is estimated at over $20,000 this year. Another large annual expense is our insurance. We currently hold 6 insurance plans in an effort to provide maximum coverage to our members, patrons, vehicles, and our office; this year our insurance should cost $25,000.

We also hold an annual major fundraiser called the CARPOOL Gala. Last year's Gala was held at Miramont Country Club in Bryan on April 9, 2005. The Gala is a formal event, including a dinner and auction, held in the spring to raise money for operations. The Gala also serves as a social event for members of CARPOOL, sponsors, alumni, and community supporters to spend the evening together.
